Focus of the Group
This group is a 10-hour course for parents who would like to more
effectively manage defiance, opposition, temper tantrums, and non-compliance
in their children and/or teenagers. The program will include a review of state-of-the-art learning
and behavioural concepts, and will provide hands-on training in skills and techniques for reducing
disruptive, defiant behaviours, and building self-esteem and optimism in children and teenagers.
Learn how to:
• Manage children with self-regulation challenges like ADHD, conduct disorder, anger
problems, learning disability, and autistic spectrum disorder
• Respond to non-compliance and diminish negative interactions
• Create better behavioural transitions (e.g., bed to school, playing to homework)
• Enhance family functioning and communication
• Build better emotional self-regulation and stress management in your children
• Establish incentive programs, including the use of token and point economies
